Privacy Policy

Last updated: 3 May 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how FursonaAI ("we", "our", "us") collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use fursonaai.com and our services. We are based in Sydney, NSW, Australia, and we comply with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). For customers in the European Union and United Kingdom, we also comply with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and UK GDPR where applicable.

By using our service, you agree to the practices described in this Policy.

1. What We Collect

When you use FursonaAI, we collect the following categories of information:

Account and contact information

Your name, email address, and (for physical orders) shipping address and phone number.

Pet photos and personalisation

The photos you upload to generate portraits, the pet name and royal title you choose, and the variant you select (King or Queen).

Order and transaction data

Product selections, order IDs, pricing, currency, payment status, and payment processor reference IDs. We do not store your full credit card number, CVV, or bank details. Payment data is handled directly by our payment processor.

Generated artwork

The AI-generated portraits we create from your uploaded photo, plus derived deliverables (digital wallpaper, Instagram-format crop, certificate PDF, and print-ready files for physical orders).

Technical data

IP address, browser type, device type, country code (used to set your local pricing currency), referring page, and basic usage logs.

Communications

Any messages you send to us at hello@fursonaai.com.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Generate your AI pet portrait and produce the associated digital and physical deliverables.
  • Process your payment, send order confirmations, and deliver download links.
  • Manufacture and ship physical prints through our print partner.
  • Provide customer support and respond to your messages.
  • Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud, abuse, and security incidents.
  • Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations.
  • Improve our service through aggregated, anonymised analytics.
  • Send you marketing communications about FursonaAI products, but only if you have given us explicit consent. You can withdraw consent at any time using the unsubscribe link in any marketing email.

3. Legal Basis for Processing

Where GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Contract. To deliver the portrait and physical product you ordered.
  • Legal obligation. To comply with tax, accounting, and consumer protection law.
  • Legitimate interests. To detect fraud, secure our service, and improve product quality. We balance these interests against your privacy rights.
  • Consent. For marketing communications and any non-essential analytics or cookies.

4. Automated Processing

FursonaAI uses an AI image generation model to create your portrait. This is automated processing of the photo you upload. The output is reviewed by our systems for quality but is not used to make any decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you. You always choose whether to purchase the result.

5. Service Providers

We work with carefully selected third-party processors to deliver our service. These providers help us with:

  • Payment processing and fraud prevention
  • AI image generation
  • Print-on-demand manufacturing and shipping (for physical orders only)
  • Transactional and marketing email delivery
  • Website hosting, file storage, and database services
  • Background job processing

Our processors are based in Australia, the United States, the European Union, and Norway. We require each provider to maintain appropriate security and confidentiality standards, and we share only the minimum data necessary for them to perform their service.

A current list of named processors is available on request. Email hello@fursonaai.com with the subject "Processor list".

We do not sell your personal information to anyone.

6. International Data Transfers

Some of our processors store and process data outside Australia, including in the United States and the European Union. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions, or equivalent legal mechanisms to ensure your data is protected to a standard comparable to Australian and European law.

7. How Long We Keep Your Information

  • Uploaded pet photos. Automatically deleted 30 days after upload, unless required for an active or in-progress order.
  • Generated portraits and order metadata. Up to 2 years from order date, so you can re-download your purchase and we can support warranty or reprint requests.
  • Financial and tax records. Up to 7 years, as required by Australian tax law.
  • Marketing contact data. Until you unsubscribe.
  • Customer support emails. Up to 2 years.

You can request earlier deletion of your data at any time (see "Your Rights" below).

8. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access. Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
  • Correction. Ask us to fix data that is inaccurate or out of date.
  • Deletion. Ask us to delete your personal information, subject to legal retention requirements.
  • Withdraw consent. Withdraw consent for marketing or non-essential cookies at any time.
  • Object or restrict. Object to certain processing or ask us to restrict it.
  • Data portability. Receive your data in a portable, machine-readable format (GDPR/UK GDPR).
  • Lodge a complaint. Complain to a supervisory authority. In Australia, this is the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au). In the EU, this is your local data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

To exercise any of these rights, email us at hello@fursonaai.com. We will respond within 30 days.

9. Cookies and Analytics

We use a small number of essential cookies and similar technologies to make the site work. These do not require consent.

If we use any non-essential analytics cookies (for example, to understand which pages convert best), we will ask for your consent through a cookie banner before setting them, in line with Australian, EU, and UK requirements.

You can manage cookie preferences in your browser at any time, although disabling essential cookies may stop parts of the site from working.

10. Children

FursonaAI is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. Security

We protect your data using:

  • HTTPS encryption for all traffic to and from our site.
  • Encrypted storage for files and databases.
  • Restricted, least-privilege access to production systems.
  • Industry-standard payment processing through a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment provider.

No internet service is completely secure. If we become aware of a breach that affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities in line with our legal obligations.
